Sugaring

All-natural hair removal

What is Body Sugaring?

Sugaring is an all-natural hair removal treatment that has been practised for centuries throughout Northern Africa, Greece and the Middle East. A gel made from sugar, lemon and hot water is used to pull hair out of the roots. It is a more gentle technique that's a natural alternative to lasers, and one that lasts longer than traditional waxing.

Is Sugaring less painful than Waxing?

Our clients find that Sugaring is a less painful hair removal experience than Waxing because unlike wax, sugar adheres only to your hair and dead skin cells. You’ll walk out with the smoothest skin ever!

Getting ready for your treatment
Please read our Before & After do’s and don’t in preparation for your treatment.

Between treatments
If you are wanting to achieve maximum results we ask that you don’t use a razor or any kind of depilatory creams (veet or nair) between your appointments as this will interfere with our goal to refine and diminish your hair growth. Keeping your skin hydrated with SugarSmac lotion will keep your skin healthy and smooth.

What is your 24 hour rule?

After your treatment, for the duration of 24 hours we ask that you stay clear of the following things, SEX, SWIMMING, GYM, HOT TUBS, BATHS, EXFOLIATION or application of product (with the exception of SugarSMAC lotion) on treated areas.

After you are sugared your follicles are open and closing up over the next 24 hours. Very important to keep the skin clean and free from anything that could irritate it.

I have been taking Accutane, can I still be sugared?

Unfortunately no, if you have been taking Accutane in the last 6 months we can not sugar you. Accutane shuts off all of your oil glands and speeds up your cell division leaving you with little to no dead skin cells to adhere to.

I am under 18, can I get Sugared?

Yes you can! We ask that you bring in a parent or guardian in with you on your first visit to sign a waiver and then we will happily sugar you!

It’s that time of the month, Can I get a Brazilian?

Absolutely! Doesn’t bother us if it doesn’t bother you. FYI - your skin can be a little more sensitive during that time, but definitely not unbearable.

Can I be Sugared while I am pregnant?

Yes! Sugaring is completely organic and safe for our mother’s to be.

BEFORE & AFTER -CARE

Before Sugaring

  • Feel free to shower before your appointment. Clean skin Sugars best.

  • No skin care products including lotion, deodorant or oil.

  • For best results ensure your hair is at least ¼ of an inch in length for Sugaring.

  • Stay out of the sun before your appointment, sunburned skin is too sensitive to sugar.

  • Please visit our front desk to fill out our consent and information form.

After Sugaring

  • Stay cool! Sweat can cause the open follicles to break out. No working out!

  • Please avoid make-up, oils or lotions for 24 hours. Keep your skin clean.

  • No bedroom fun for 24 hours after your treatment.

  • No bathing or hot tubs for 24 hours after sugaring.

  • You can start to exfoliate the treated area 48 hours after Sugaring.

Eyelashes

Eyelash

Extensions

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are used to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions are synthetic. Typically, semi-permanent lashes are applied by a technician who hand-glues the extensions on top of your natural lashes.

This is my first time having lash extensions, what do I need to do?
Arrive a few moments before your appointment to fill out the lash consent and information form.

What if I am wearing make-up?
Please arrive with your eyes freshly washed and free of any make-up. Use an oil free makeup remover for best results!  You can remove your make-up at the salon, but for best best results arrive fresh faced.

Can I work out directly after my extensions are applied?
For the first 24 hours you must not get your eyes wet, so no crying, showering or swimming. Also best to avoid sweating for 24 hours.

What kind of aftercare is involved in lash extensions?
For best results remember to brush your lashes everyday with the brush provided.

I am under 18, can I get lash extensions?
Yes you can! We ask that you bring in a parent or guardian in with you on your first visit to sign a waiver and then we will happily apply your lash extensions!

Can I wear mascara or eyeliner over my lashes?
Do not use mascara on your lash extensions as it may cause eyelashes to fall out. You can use eyeliner, just remember to be gentle when removing the eyeliner and NO RUBBING.

Can I get whatever size extensions I want?
We care about the health of your real lashes, so we size your extensions based on what your real lashes can handle to prevent breakage and eventual hair loss.

How long will my lashes last and when will I need a fill?
The adhesive is non-irritating and bonds for 2 to 8 weeks.  Every person’s lash retention is different, therefore a fill can vary between clients.  On average, every

2 - 3 weeks is expected.

I’ve had an allergic reaction to the adhesive in the past, does this mean I will never be able to get lashes again?

Not necessarily, we recommend you come in for a lash test.  We can explain this in more detail when you call.

Eyebrows

Microblading
Or Feathering

What is Microblading or Feathering?

Microblading method is the most natural appearing form of eyebrow tattooing. Using a pen-like device to stroke hair-like lines of pigment into the skin. These strokes fall in the same direction as your own natural hairs, and create the most natural results. Your eyebrows will look full, healthy and perfectly shaped.

Does Eyebrow Tattooing hurt?

No. We use a topical anesthetic cream during the procedure to make sure you feel totally comfortable the whole time.

How long does the tattooing take?

You are booked in for a 2 to 2.5 hour time slot. This will include the consultation, preparing your skin and the procedure.

What does semi-permanent mean?

Micro-blading is designed to fade after 1-3 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Unlike typical inked tattoos which last forever, they fade over time and should be refreshed every 1 - 1.5 years for maintenance.

How many treatments are needed?

The procedure includes a complimentary eyebrow touch up 4-8 weeks later. Everyone heals differently therefore this gives us the opportunity to make them darker or create more density to your brows the second time.

Will Microblading work for me?

If you have any of the following skin conditions, Microblading will likely not work well for you:

  • Excessive sebum (oily skin)

  • Severe acne

  • Moles in the procedure area

  • Keratosis

  • Keloid scarring

  • Facial psoriasis or eczema

  • Very dry skin

Also, if you are iron deficient or Anemic, the pigment will fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.

Can I have Microblading done when I’m pregnant or nursing?

As a precaution, we do not perform on pregnant or nursing women.

Is My Deposit Refundable?

All deposits are non-refundable but can be credited towards a future service within 6 months.

How can I prepare for my treatment?

When you come in for your appointment, bring in any photos of your eyebrows filled in the way you like, as well as any eyebrow makeup that you currently use to do your eyebrows. Also, please come in with clean skin and eyebrows. No make-up.

BEFORE & AFTER-CARE

  • For the first 3- 6 days, the colour intensity of your procedure will be significantly darker, as well as larger and sharper than what is expected for the final outcome.

  • Although the area will appear healed after 10 days, it will not be fully healed for 4 – 6 weeks (8 weeks for lips); this is based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.

  • One procedure cannot guarantee desired outcome. In some cases, we need to see how our clients react to the pigment and review the healing process after the first procedure.  Therefore, we offer one free touch-up visit within 3 months of the first procedure.

  • In very complicated cases (involving removal/colour correction/camouflage/ scar tissue/iron disorder) an extra charge may apply on extra touch-ups, this will be discussed.

Please follow our After-Care instructions closely:

  • Do not get your eyebrows wet for a full 7 days after your treatment

  • Apply the ointment provided for 5 days after treatment

  • DO NOT pick or rub your eyebrows as they are healing

  • NO MAKE-UP for at least two weeks on your eyebrows

All laser treatments should be avoided on the brow area to avoid premature fading, pigment swelling and/or colour altering.

Permanent Make-up

Makeup & Camoflage

What is Permanent Make-up?
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eye-lining and other permanent enhancing colours to the face, lips, and eyelids.

BEFORE & AFTER-CARE

Keep the area MOISTURIZED!  Use after care products which we provide you as an after care anti-oxidant (or you can also use Vaseline).  Gently apply every 1 – 2 hours or when you feel tender, itchy or dry for 10 – 14 days.  This provides pain relief, moisturizes and promotes healing to help retain colour.

  • 2 – 3 hours after your procedure, gently splash the area with water to remove body fluids, re-apply your aftercare product.

  • Avoid soaps/facial cleansers on pigmented areas (wash around them), pat dry with a clean towel.·

  • Before showering, use our after care product first.  Do not directly shower the treated area.

  • Before sleeping, use after care product to keep the area moisturized overnight.  Try to sleep on your back.  Otherwise you may need to apply sensitive medical tape over the area.·

  • DO NOT rub, scratch or pick any crust along the tattooed area.  Early removal of pigment crusts may result in lost colour.

  • DO NOT apply makeup on the pigmented area during the healing process.

  • Avoid swimming, soaking, steam bath or facials for the 1st week.

  • Avoid applying exfoliates or AHA/glycolic acid products to the tattooed area for at least 2 weeks.

  • Avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds) during healing process.

Long term care for all procedures
 ·

  • Use a good sunscreen daily on tattooed area(s) otherwise the colour will fade faster.

  • Our pigment is iron-oxide based which your body slowly absorbs, the colour will fade over time.  You may desire touch ups every 1 – 3 years.

  • If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please tell the technician that you have an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo.

More for Eyebrows

  • The eyebrows may be swollen for the first few hours.  The colour will look darker for the first 5 days until the scab peels off, at that time it will lighten.

More for Eyeliner

  • Do not use mascara or eye shadow for the first 10 days.  Do not disturb the lash roots.

  • Ice several times daily (approx. 10 min.) over the first 3 days to minimize swelling.

  • Before putting on ice bag, place plastic wrap on your eye area. Eyelid will be puffy and swollen for the first few days, to reduce swelling.

More for Lips

If you have had cold sores/fever blisters/herpes at any time in your life, you MUST obtain prescription from your doctor.  Start prescription 3 days prior and continue 4 days post procedure.  Failure to pre-medicate may result in an outbreak which will compromise your results.

The lips will look very intense and may become swollen for 2 - 3 days.  Usually the scab will peel off in about 3 days.  During this time the colour will look quite pale, only the lip line will show a light colour.   Be patient until the skin matures (about one month), at this point you will see a more natural result.

  • Use clean Q-tips to apply after-care product (or Vaseline)

  • Avoid eating spicy and salty foods

  • Use a straw to drink for the first few days
